What To Expect

My Approach

Research shows that most people who receive therapy experience symptom relief and are better able to function in their lives. About 75 percent of people who enter psychotherapy show some benefit from it. Therapy has been shown to improve emotions and behaviors and to be linked with positive changes in the brain and body.

I use a combination of different treatment modalities that are evidence-based and have scientific merit including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and the trauma-informed therapy, EMDR.

Some ways that you might benefit from therapy include:

  • Feeling supported and understood

  • Sharing your fears, burdens, and worries with a neutral, caring person

  • Gaining greater insight into your experiences and behaviors

  • Gaining greater self-awareness, self-confidence, and self-acceptance

  • Improving your relationships with others

  • Learning new coping skills that will help you manage stress more effectively

  • Building a better awareness of your own thoughts and emotions

A typical session:

  • is about 45-50 minutes

  • is confidential*

  • can be in person or via a HIPPA-compliant telemedicine platform

  • may include homework

  • may include outside resources intended to reinforce therapeutic goals

*A therapist may break confidentiality if there is an immediate threat to safety or when required by state or federal law to report concerns to authorities.

  • How do I add a new question & answer?
To add a new FAQ follow these steps: 1. Click “Manage FAQs” button 2. From your site’s dashboard you can add, edit and manage all your questions and answers 3. Each question and answer should be added to a category 4. Save and publish.

You can edit the title from the Settings tab in the app. If you don’t want to display the title, simply disable the Title under “Info to Display”.
